Stephen Gauci quits Air Malta

Stephen Gauci will be moving to pastures new at the end of this month (July 2022…ndr). He can be best described as an airline communications and marketing guru who managed to achieve a lot despite the very limited resources put at his disposal during his 27 years at KM. Stephen’s sense of humour and calm style made people comfortable, especially when the situation was anything but calm.

SG is a true legend within the local general aviation scene, a man of unquestioned integrity and a wonderful friend to many in the local press. He is a reminder that wisdom is a hallmark of true leadership and building something of sustainable value. Anyone who had the pleasure of working with him, knows that he will sorely be missed at Air Malta. He always went the extra mile and even when the airline messed up, he was always the one who never stopped in trying to build bridges with local and international journalists. Besides his many academic accomplishments, including his M.A. in Marketing from the University of Malta, the talented Mr Gauci is also a PPL holder making him a true all-rounder.

It is sad to see someone of Stephen’s calibre leaving the national airline, especially at a time when it needs loyal, flexible and dedicated people like he was. Probably, two of his biggest achievements will always remain the coordination of the air-to-air filming of two Air Malta Airbus A320ceo over the Maltese islands in 2013 and the filming of the formation flying of an Air Malta A320 with the RAF Red Arrows in 2014.
