Captain Emvic Debono set to leave Air Malta

In an email sent by Captain Emvic Debono earlier in the day, he revealed that he will be relinquishing his post as Chief Flight Operations Officer and Nominated Person Flight Operations at the national carrier. Captain Debono joined KM way back in 1987 before moving to pastures new namely at Gulf Air and Etihad within the MENA region, before returning to SkyParks Level 2 as part of the senior management team at the Maltese national carrier. He rejoined the company on 2nd May 2018 when Joseph Galea was Acting CEO at the time. MAviO News is reliably informed he will still remain actively involved in the aviation sphere, including in a high ranking position with an as yet to launch new operator.

His departure will now see an interesting chess game at Level 2, with MAviO News being reliably informed that at least two senior captains are vying for the highly important role being left vacant by Captain Debono.
