Earlier in the day MAviO board member and awards coordinator Joanne Calleja presented a framed copy of the latest issue of Skyliner Aviation & News to Enemed’s Executive chairman Kevin J Chircop. It features an Edelweiss Airbus A320 slowing down along runway 31 with Our Lady of Loreto chapel in the background. The cover photo was shot by MAviO News staff photographer Mario Caruana who together with Chanelle Demicoli and Riccardo Flask have had more than 15 photos featured prominently on the cover of international aeronautical publications during the past 36 months.
In a short address, MAviO board member Joanne Calleja, thanked Enemed’s Executive chairman Kevin Chircop for supporting MAviO. She continued that the whole board feels privileged and humbled that Enemed has once again agreed to support Malta’s biggest aviation meetup for the local aviation community. Enemed have been proud sponsors of the event since 2019. It is thanks to the petroleum giant, that MAviO has been able to keep this voluntary initiative going while also organising the meetup at no cost to all invited guests. The meetup is the only event on the island that brings together the many facets of the local aviation scene, from flight schools to airlines under one roof.
While thanking Joanne for the framed copy, Kevin Chircop remarked that such voluntary initiatives are unique in their genre and they fit perfectly with Enemed’s ethos of promoting and fostering collegiality among Malta’s diverse aviation players. He continued that with the superb network built by MAviO over the years and the internationally acclaimed speakers being invited to address the meetup, he can already foresee that the collaboration between Enemed and MAviO will evolve to include an array of new initiatives for the benefit of the local aviation community.
