MIA has published its traffic results for the first quarter of 2022. In a nutshell, the airport operator claimed that traffic through the Luqa gateway is still 44% below pre-pandemic levels. Moreso, MIA added that 14 countries that are currently connected to the island have lifted all travel restrictions. The total number of passengers handled during the first three months of the year amounted to almost 673,000. It was also revealed that seats available to and from Malta remained at 35.4% below pre-pandemic levels, while seat load factor averaged 65.5%. This was more than 10% below 2019 levels.
