The 2016 edition was one of the largest ever organised by the organising committee. The theme was carefully chosen, with the senior management team opting to focus on the much overlooked subject of seaplanes. Could Malta become the Maldives of the Mediterranean? Under the stewardship of Marvic Bugeja, Dr Francesca Galea and Captain Sinclair Portelli, the organising committee managed to lure the CEO of Floatlook & Travel, Paulo Figueiredo, as well as the CEO of Dornier Seawings, Peter Hermle to address the delegates present. Another excellent presentation was given by world renowned seaplane consultant Captain Barry Lightening, who has since passed away. The 2016 conference, served as a catalyst for a number of entrepreneurs to have a closer look at seaplane operations once more. A number of top travel agents, were invited to the Aviation Outlook, which served as a platform for capacity providers and tour operators to discuss and exchange ideas.
