The 2014 edition continued to build on the excellent foundations set in 2011. History was done, when two leading aeronautical publications carried out a MALTA SPECIAL article focusing on the ever expanding Maltese aviation industry. The whole team captained by university lecturer Riccardo Flask and ably assisted by Dr Francesca Galea and banker Joanne Calleja, was elated when Prime Minister Joseph Muscat attended for the conference, together with Minister for Tourism Edward Zammit Lewis. At the conference, investors got their first glimpse of the government’s master plan for the land surrounding the airport, including the initial idea of setting up a logistics centre.
