Afghani carrier Kam Air is to add a second aircraft from the ATR stable. During the past 36 hours, this ex-Oman Air ATR 42-500 has been towed to the maintenance area in front of the Medavia Technics hangar.
The aircraft is currently registered to Flair Aviation in Ruckersdorf, Germany. The aircraft will be repainted in the striking orange livery of Kam Air in the coming weeks. Kam Air has an interesting history and was one of the first airlines to emerge after the Taliban were ousted from power.
The company was started amid fierce competition from Safi Airways, Pamir and East Horizon. Surprisingly, they all fell by the wayside and Kam Air was one of the few to soldier in the war thorn country.
