MAviO Head of News Marvic Bugeja caught up with Captain Robert Risso who spent 35 years at Air Malta before joining Comlux and subsequently the Civil Aviation Directorate within Transport Malta as a Flight Operations Inspector. Captain Risso sheds light on the first CRM courses he held at KM at the now defunct Selmun Palace Hotel.
Moreso he revealed that he found opposition when he first wanted to enlist the first female pilots at the Maltese national carrier. He claims that 10 years at Comlux have taught him more than 35 years at Air Malta. This is thanks to what he describes as ”coziness” flying in Europe as opposed to flying in China, South East Asia and also Latin America.
