Turkish operator Freebird Airlines has set up a branch in Malta registering its first aircraft on the island as 9H-FHB.
This aircraft is ex TC-FHB carrying construction number 3025. This particular A320 is a 12 year old airframe and carried the test registration F-WWBI. Freebird’s A320 brought over a high-level delegation from the Gozen Holding for a two day visit. The aircraft was delivered with the Maltese registration, flying direct from Antalya. A member of the senior management team at Freebird Europe, namely Mr Haci Say explained that the company has the intention of starting intra-European flights and he also expressed his gratitude for the superb support received from the Maltese authorities including TM-CAD. Interestingly, this is the second Turkish operator after Corendon Airlines to set up shop on the island.
