AirX apprentice Anton Cilia has made the big leap into the right-hand seat of the Boeing 737. He completed his type-rating course at Baltic Aviation Training before moving to Denmark where he did his base training with relative newcomer AirSeven on their Boeing 737-400 registered OY-ASB.
First Officer Anton Cilia who hails from Siggiewi started his PPL training in 2016., while two years later he enrolled for his Commercial Pilot’s License training. After completing his CPL, Anton joined AirX as an apprentice where he worked closely with MAviO Award winner Captain Joe Agius. During his free time he was also one of the ground instructors at Malta School of Flying where he was often seen lecturing during weekends.. When talking to MAviO News , Anton praised the AirX apprentice scheme. He explained that such an initiative gives you a better understanding of the intricacies involved in the aviation industry from all that goes on behind the scenes to the challenges faced by flightdeck crew.
He had originally joined AirX in January 2020 and was extremely thankful to the Smart City based operator for the opportunity given to achieve his childhood dream.
